Maharashtra Nature Park

Vision: To put Mumbai on the global environmental map by re-establishing the lost connection between man, river, and the city, through an intervention that is not only environmentally sensitive but also economically sustainable. The proposed design successfully brings the river to the center of attention from oblivion and neglect.
The proposed design celebrates the city, its citizens, and the spirit of DIVERSITY, RESILIENCE, ASPIRATION, and INTEGRITY.
Biomimicry: The building takes its inspiration from the ant hill, with its tunnels and chambers, and a unique ventilation system. The mound-like building becomes a part of the natural landscape, letting nature "encroach" upon it.
The organic form of the main building is designed as a "flexi-space", catering to multiple activities and functions. The building will be designed as a "triple net zero building" and built with recycled/recyclable materials.
The Bridge - a natural extension of the park, becomes a new typology of public space; the multicultural urban social fabric of Mumbai is manifested in the intertwining form.
The "Mumbai Loop" - a new landmark for Mumbai that offers a different perspective and view of the city, making you come back for a different experience every time. A way to celebrate the Maximum City and its aspirations.
MULTIPLI-CITY - The City is an "integrator" of diverse cultures, nationalities, languages, and beliefs, offering a unique and rich experience of global integration.
The park and bridge are proposed as part of an "integrated urban greenway" along the river, integrating diverse neighborhoods and public transportation networks.
